In August 2014 the RTE Radio One ‘Doc on One’ series featured a documentary following Paul Devaney on his Antarctica and Everest expeditions in pursuit of the Seven Summits. Paul and his climbing buddy Niall O’Byrnes were on Everest in April 2014 when they found themselves in the middle of the biggest disaster in Everest history after an avalanche on the Khumbu Icefall killed 16 Sherpa and led to a week of high drama and emotion at Everest Base Camp which eventually led to the effective shutdown of the mountain from the South side. This documentary features audio diary from that trip and tells the story of a Seventh Summit not yet reached.
